the subway train was empty..giving those few people aboard a seat to sit in and contemplate the "Attack on America" article on the front page. I could cross Park Avenue on the green light. Not a taxi in sight. Even the fruit salad cart ont he corner of 53rd and Lex was missing. How strange the city as a semi-ghost town. The buildings seem to be whispering prayers.
