You are using it on the INSIDE of the oven?

First of all, that's TOO toxic, not to toxic.

NO, I havent even bought it yet. James asked me to pick some up. See, he poured some hot water into a glass pan in the oven that was steaming some acorn squash last week...and the pan exploded, sending glass, squash water, and brown sugar all over in the oven. I was reading the labeling on the over cleaner:

"Causes burns to skin on contact"
"Do hot inhale"
"Cover floor around oven with newspaper to prevent melting of flooring"

Yuck. No-way. The oven can just cook it off over time. And with little animals in the house, double no-way.

Your oven doesn't have a self-cleaning cycle? Most do... except the really old ones.

Oven Cleaner

Ready to Use 22oz: $6.50

Description
This non-toxic oven cleaner effectively removes grease and soot from ovens, grills, drip pans, hoods, and heavily soiled pots and pans. Replaces highly toxic, caustic and fuming oven cleaners without sacrificing performance. Contains no hazardous ingredients per OSHA standards and no known or suspected carcinogens.

Directions
Apply ready-to-use product on grill, hood, or oven surface. Let sit for 10-30 minutes, agitate with fine steel wool or non-scratch pad, and wipe clean with water. Repeat if necessary for stubborn baked-on grease. For sensitive skin, use protective gloves.

ill have to look into that. James scrubbed the oven with a scrubbie sponge and some soapy water. Our oven is old and have no self-cleaning cycle. (It is NYC here! Landlord are CHEEEEEAP!) Someone said something about this stuff almost killing their bird though....

oven cleaner
Hi Lisa, next time you're in the market look at "Easy Off Fume Free"
It does not mention melting floors, of course you should keep your cats away from all cleaners
(like anti-freeze, some cleaners taste sweet to animals, so they drink it(not a good thing)),
but, this oven cleaner is easy to use, not as toxic as the one you looked at,is safe for electric ovens, works on cold ovens, and smells good. no, It's not an add(not paid at least)I've used it and it works well for me.
