Pissed off

I've been planning to take this coming Monday and Tuesday off for over a month. It's been on the company calender and ok-ed by my supervisor (whose now on vacation). I Was asked about an hour ago if I could cancel my vacation because "im the only one who can do my job...and it's not really fair to ask the other girls to cover for me...and the only person who was going to cover is now suddenly really busy [I feel sorta guilty about that last part, really, cause i dont wanna make someone stay here until 9pm, like i did last night..]")
James took off M-W, and there's no point in me taking off any other days just to sit around.
So fuck it all.

You are crazy...remember, you only live once...take your vacation! You dont want to be on your death bed saying "why did I spend all that time working? where did it get me? I should have enjoyed life more!"

whatever else you may say about it, they are exploiting you. But then I am just suspicious and cynical of most employers these days.

who would cover your job if you were too sick to come work?, or would they want you to come and make everybody else sick(like with the flu, or something) you're being taken advantage of.

Very true, let them learn now how to cope, or hire you an assistant next week ;-)

So...you're saying you can never take off because no one can do your job? Hellooohhhh!

It also means you can't ever get promoted.

or maybe they're really in a bind. How important is your job and your company to you?

don't get too upset everyone. just an opposing point of view.
