Heat Wave

Another weekend has come and gone. All my things are moved to Jo's place. The keys have been returned to the landlord. KT lazes in Jo's kitchen, confined between the bedroom door and a baby gate. Major Ebay things have shipped and been paid for. Lots of clothing has been packed up for donation and a few last things for the Craigstlist crowd are ready for posting.

Saturday was errand/ sit on the train carrying heavy things around day. Yesterday, we cleaned the apartment and made it into a livable space again. Jo is suffering from his cold, and the heat doesn't help. We switched off the broadcast for a bit to plug in the AC before finding another way to power the electronic equipment. It helped a little against the stove, where I was making Moroccan mint tea to chill in the fridge, and boiling beets for an evening salad.

Today is day 3 of the New England "heat wave". Just last week I was freezing my ass off in the 50 degree morning air. Randomness. Jo is at home boiling away. And I have to say that I'm grateful for a little cool office air! I don't mind the heat, don't get me wrong. I dislike cold immensely, but a break now and then is welcome :)

Tomorrow, between 8am -10am, KT will be picked up by Precious Pets Transport and taken away down to Texas. Im missing him already. I know he will have a fabulous new home, but it's been 8 years since I've been "petless". It's a strange concept to have a wobbly cat NOT underfoot. Sigh. But this being said, no more pets for awhile. Not in Japan and not when I return again.
